I'm Becky Carver — a Gestalt Psychotherapist, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, and Psychedelic Integration Therapist based in Thornbury, Melbourne.
For over a decade I have been accompanying people through the kind of change that reshapes a life. I work with individuals in my Thornbury practice, run immersive retreats on my property in Chewton, Central Victoria, and facilitate trainings for therapists who are inspired to work in a different way.
But before any of that — I am someone who is deeply committed to doing her own inner work. And continues to do so.
I don't approach this work as someone who fixes. I approach it as someone who walks alongside. Who meets you exactly where you are — with presence, curiosity, and the kind of empathy that comes from having been in the tender places myself. My greatest skill in the therapy room is presence. I may not always know where we are going, but I am fully there, in the moment, with genuine curiosity and care. That quality of being met — truly met — is something I hold as sacred in every session I facilitate. I also believe deeply in non-judgement. You can bring anything here. Whatever you carry, whatever you have never said out loud — this is a safe space to bring it. Nothing surprises me and I'll just be here, fully, with you.
What makes me different is my willingness to keep doing my own work. I have dived deep many times and I continue to do so. I believe it is my commitment — to myself and to my clients. If I am not doing my own work, how can I ask another to do the same?
This path has taken me to Canada and Peru, where I have learned from elders and mentors. It has taken me through shamanic leadership training, through plant medicine ceremony, and I am currently engaged in an apprenticeship with an indigenous woman from Mexico.
In my own work I have navigated difficult integration processes, dived into the chrysalis and come through the other side.
The path is winding. I know that better than most. And I bring every twist of it into the room with me — not as my story, but as my capacity to walk alongside yours.
I am a mother of three — which means I understand that healing doesn't happen in a vacuum. It happens in real life, in relationships, in the ordinary and extraordinary moments between sessions.
I am endlessly curious. I read widely, travel when I can, and am always seeking the next thread that will deepen my practice and my understanding of what it means to be human.
This work is not separate from my life. It is my life.
