Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself

Last year a very dear old friend of mine recommended i read this book 'Breaking the habit of being yourself' by Dr Joe Dispenza. Instantly i grabbed a copy for myself and my life has never been the same. Although often inspired by these sorts of books i often cringe as well at the laborious task of sifling through yet another self help book and on the onset this appeared to be the case. However very quickly i found myself becoming increasingly excited as the information that was being presented to me began to really resonate. Before i knew it i was savouring every page as though it was a crowned jewel but at the same time i felt eager to keep reading as i was thrown into the depths of a possible new reality filled with endless possibilities. Not only was i totally absorbed by what i was reading but the fact that it was scientifically based and i was enjoying it led me into a world of neuroscience which to this day i haven't stopped learning about.

Before you get bogged down with the idea of science, let me explain. Apart from a bit of sciency explanations at the beginning such as quantum theory and modern neuroscience (which mind you are actually quite interesting) the rest of the book is actually very practical and easy to read providing the reader with the tools in order to really change your mind completely from what you are and don't want to be, to your ideal self. It's about being who you are and unloading all that baggage and ALL the things in the past that influence your decisions and actions in the now.

And how may this all be done you may ask? The thing i love about this book is it's practicality and at the back is a four week course providing the reader with meditations that allow you to go into your subconscious mind to literally change who you are and become who you want to be. The idea is to meditate on what you want to manifest in your life as though it has already happened. This in turn 'tricks' your brain into believing that the event has already been lived and therefore aligns your energy to attracting more of the same event. By addressing the hidden emotions/beliefs that prevent you from manifesting what it is you want in your life and then in your mind living an event as though it has happened will inevitably allow for magic to happen. As i have mentioned earlier, since reading this book, amazing things have happened in my life that previously i never would have imagined.

I cannot recommend this book enough. Dr Joe Dispenza has very recently released a new book called 'You are the Placebo - Making your Mind Matter'. I am yet to get my hands on this one but when i do you can guarantee i will be writing about it. I am a massive fan of Dr Joe Dispenza and i have watched many of his You tube videos. I would like to add this little clip which will give you a little taste of what he is on about (it is worth only 7 minutes of your time) and worth every bit of it. Enjoy :-).
