Getting the Dreams out of Your Head

So who of you have a dream or dreams that simply bob away in your head never allowing the dream to be actualised? I know my dreams are constantly keeping me awake at night, and disturbing me throughout my day. Many times over the past year as i have shifted careers i have allowed myself the perfect opportunity to paint several pictures of what i want my future to look like. Some have been discarded as quickly as they emerged and others have lingered, and become stronger as they bang around in my head screaming to be actualised.

About a year ago i came across this talk from Darren Rowse from Problogger spoken at the World Domination Conference in 2013. It is approximately 48 minutes long which for most i can hear you groaning 'who has 50 minutes to spare!' However, i was so inspired by this talk that i have watched it several times in the past year as i am continually inspired to dream. I cannot recommend enough the worthiness of setting aside the time to watch this. Darren is a funny guy and very simply explores ways to get the dreams out of your head into reality. Below are some easy steps in which he puts it:

1. Firstly: (and most importantly) Allow yourself to dream! Regularly set time aside to dream (now doesn't that sound like fun????)

2. What needs to change?

3. Look for sparks! Big things come from the smallest thing. Look at the current small things in your life and ask yourself 'what gives me energy?' (and what doesn't!) What is giving your energy each day?

4. Become hyper aware of problems, be obsessed by how you can solve those problems.

5. Choose one small thing every day that will take you closer to your dreams and do it to your best ability. Set time aside to 'create' and complete. What kind of future will you create? What is your next step going to be?

6. Lastly….Share your dream! Make yourself accountable for your dreams.

Allow yourself to dream!
